He lived there for many years and created his most important work. Next to the house there is his bust. In the place where the house is today, there was one of the ten windmills of the island. In 1878, with the transfer of Naustathmos from Poros, to the bay of Faneromeni, they built a small house from the stones of the windmill, which served as the Governor's Office, until 1881, when Naustathmos was moved to Ormos Palukion, its current location. Afterwards, the lower area of the small hut was used by the monastery as an armory and the upper area as a retreat for a monk of the monastery. When in 1933 Angelos Sikelianos came to Salamina and visited the monastery, he was impressed by the beauty of the landscape and expressed the desire to be granted a place to stay. So, he was granted the little house on the beach of the monastery where he was to live the last years of his life and create there the most important part of his work. This house also housed the love and happiness of Angelos and Anna Kampanaris from 1938 to the end of 1949. In 1951, with the death of Angelos, the house was deserted. After forty years, in 1991, at an event in honor of Aggelos Sikelianos held by the Municipality of Salamina, Anna, the wife of Aggelos, expressed the desire to restore the little house and give her personal items to make it a small museum. Her wish came true. She herself did not get to see it finished because she died a few days before the restoration was finished. But she was the pioneer, since she gave the data as well as photographic material to the architects for the restoration of the house. The restoration of the house began in 2003, in collaboration with the Ephorate of Modern Monuments of Attica and the Municipality of Salamina, and ended in the summer of 2006, where it was inaugurated on September 17 of the same year. In the little house there are various exhibits such as: furniture, photos, letters, as well as other objects of the couple. It stands there upright among the magic of the moonlit sea and the blue of the sky, to remind the people of the island of Angel and Anna who loved and adored them so much and locked them in their hearts forever.
