The Lighthouse is located on the south side of Salamina, in Konchi, on Cape Lykopoulos, between the holiday settlements of Peristeria and Kolones. The Lighthouse building was built at the beginning of the 20th century and operated for the first time on 01.03.1901. It consists of a stone building of 134.75 m2, which is placed in the center of the building, a tower, 11 m high, which at its end, carries a metal cage. The Lighthouse in the Conch of Salamina was classified in 2002 as a Historical Preserved Monument and is an emblematic and semiological monument both for the historical island of Salamina and for the region of Attica. The monument is part of the Greek Maritime Network and is an example of the cultural heritage and the Greek Maritime Tradition. (The text was written by Ms. Maria Butsi).
